Louise Mcilroy BA Hons, Lic. Ac. MBAcC

Hello, my name is Louise Mcilroy and I am an acupuncturist practicing in Ealing, West London at the Soma Room, and in Notting Hill, West London at Bodyism.

I am passionate about helping people restore health and maintain a healthly body and mind connection.   I am a fully qualified Five Element and Traditional Acupuncturist, holding a Professional Licentiate from The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa, where I was awarded a Distinction.  There my training was extensive covering all aspects of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Theory as well as Biomedicine, Acupuncture Research and Clinical Skills.

In my practice, I employ a Five Element Acupuncture approach coupled with Traditional Chinese Medicine, addressing both immediate  physical  symptoms along with broader health issues.  I treat people of all ages with a diverse range of conditions and have specialised knowlege and skills to help with musculoskeletal pain, women's health, anxiety, and many more common issues.   Additionally, I am qualified in Moxibustion, Cupping, and Gua-sha and integrate these tools with acupuncture as needed.

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, I adhere to their Codes of Safe Practice and Professional conduct and  maintain full medical malpractice and public/products liability insurance.

Prior to becoming an Acupuncturist, I held senior positions in Marketing within the corporate world.  My first hand experience of the benefits of acupuncture led me to explore Chinese Medicine further which evolved into my current passion where I enjoy being able to help more people experience the healing  benefits of this ancient practice.

Louise is  a member of the British Acupuncture Council which is the UK's largest professional body of acupuncturists. Choosing a practitioner from the British Acupuncture Council's register is a good way to ensure a high standard of care as all members must have completed at least 3 years of  rigorous training from an accredited college. Many insurance companies only cover treatments carried out by British Acupuncture Council accredited practitioners,  so fees can be claimed back. Check with your insurer for details.
